I've seen some button locking knives from boker on ebay. the BOKER MAGNUM Kalashnikov and Magnum Blitz looks interesting, but are they any good?

is the button lock strong? is the lockup tight? does the blade glide easily, maybe with a drop of oil, when the button is pushed down?

any information would be appreciated.

i own a couple of boker plus kalashnikov 74's. all of mine are conversions though. those models are high quality for the money, imho. very good fit and finish for low dollar(relatively speaking) knives. very useable design, nice ergo's for my hand size which is medium. plunge lock is solid and only a very slight blade play, due i think to the spring and design...but all three of mine have a very slight side to side blade play...after converted. up and down is lock tight solid, no movement. aus8 in those models is very good, takes a good edge and holds it as long as any aus8 i've ever owned.

i have read that unconverted ones open easily...via wrist action or gravity helped. i don't think you'll have an issue in that regard. plus unconverted is covered by the lifetime limited warranty...so.....if it can't open i believe boker will give you your money back if you don't like it...or i think i read that on their website? anyways....

i don't know anything about the magnum versions....i don't hear bad things, but i think some use 420 steel of some sort and i'm not a fan of that steel.
