I have the oportunity to buy a Benchmade 800 AFCK PE Satin Blade, its Old Stock NIB for a very good price.. I own several Benchmades and am use to there quality. I was in the market for either a benchmade 800 or Spyderco Military and was going to buy a Military but came across this model 800 NIB Locally for a great buy, The way I see it is the Military is not going anywhere while the benchmade 800 is a legend and a flagship model for benchmade, why they discontinued this blade I do not understand. and PLEASE dont let this thread start a benchmade spyderco war about "The Hole" I respect both companies and they both make fantastic blades... Just looking for other peoples opinions on both blades before I make my decision...

The 800 is a better investment. THey aren't being made anymore and you can still get a new Millie from anywhere.

Thanks Elkins for the response, I decided to buy the benchmade 800 got it for 100 bucks.. Hope I did alright, Its NIB never been used...

Considering a NIB, PE satin blade ATS-34, 800 will bring close to 300 bucks at times on eBay, I'd say so.

$100 for a NIB 800 AFCK is a great price, nice snag! You may even purchase a Mili and compare. I have each, both are good knives. I prefer the overall construction quality of the BM, but like the ergos and ffg blade profile of the Mili better. It's just one of those things where you'll never know until you own both- and you know the probabilities are you eventually will own both :) One thing is certain, either will hold value well and will readily resell in new or used condition.

Tenman,

I am pretty stoked about getting this blade, I pick it up tonight, I plan on carrying for about a week and then doing a review on it....

I prefer the AFCK. Good choice. I like that it has full liners.

i have had and edc'd both, both are good, the AFCK has dual liners but the millie rarely has lock issues, i kinda prefer the millie but like i said both are good if a little long in tooth nowadays, i have had 4 or 5 millies and i bet over a dozen AFCK's thru the yrs.
