Buy Trade And Sell section

Hi I am Daniel,

I have been working with Elliot on this issue but he asked me to post a new thread here. I go to the Buy,Sell,Trade section for individuals. I am already logged in as I look at the top and is says Log Out. I try to post a thread on some things I want to sell and this notice comes up and tells me I have to log in. So I thought maybe I had to log in for that section or something. I log in on the drop down notice that pops up and it says welcome nativecajun57. But when I try to post it comes up again. Saying I may not have permission to view this page or I need to log in or register. So I went through the motions of registering for what I thought was needed to enter that section. Still no luck.

All I need to do is learn how to post something under the knives section and then I have a few flashlights I may want to sell in the other section that applies to flashlights.

I also need to learn how to post a photo. I never understood that URL for my photo. My photos are in my computer so I just may not know how to accomplish what they are asking. I have never attached a URL to a photo.

And when viewing in the general section about knives I cannot figure out how to post a new thread on things I need help with. My experience has been frustrating somewhat here. Not all bad I enjoy reading but I would really like to learn how to participate and post my help issues and put photos in the thread. For example I was helping my Brother-in-Law clean out his cousins garage and I find a hand made knife and the Shield has A.M. on top of the round shield the Mayhall on the bottom of it. The tang has Hand made knife. I do not remember if it also has mayhall on the tang or not. But I want to photograph that knife and see if anyone recognizes that knife. It is a very short but very very stout built trapper. I mean that thing is built. And it closes with a very athourtative snap. I had to refurbish it a bit. Who knows how long it has been in that garage. Because his cousin has been living there with his wife for years and years and it is a rental house so the person before could have been there for years who knows. But I would really like to put this up in the help ID section or where ever it goes.

Hi Daniel,
I can not help with the log in issue, but can with the picture posting.
The Image linking button works if you are hosting your pictures on another site. As yours are on your PC, scroll down a little further in the advanced posting to the button for "manage attachments". This will allow you to upload the attachment for your post. Be aware that there is a size limit and you may have to resize a version of the photo you want for the purpose of posting it.

Someone else will be along shortly to help with the other issue.

1. It looks like Spark will have to figure out why you can't post.
With a Gold membership, you should be able to post practically anywhere.

2. In the General Knife Discussion, what happens when you click on Post Reply?

3. You have two ways of posting pictures. One is directly from your computer, as Ed T just described.
The other is from a photo hosting site, like Photobucket -- which is what I use.
Photobucket attaches a URL to the photo, which I can paste in anywhere in my post.

Once we clear up why you can't post, everything else will fall into place.

If you are able to post here, you should be able to post in the For Sale area, since you are a Gold member. Your profile shows nothing wrong (as far as I can see looking behind the scenes). Are you running any antivirus programs or net defender style applications?
 
I found he has now gotten a sales post up, but still needs help with posting pictures.
