I got a Taylor made lock back for Christmas. I did not really like it, great effort by the wife, but I could not even pull off a good acting line, "wow honey thanks!" She knows me too well. Anyways, I was able to exchange it at the surplus store where my wife bought it. there was not a great selection of knives, but I looked at this slim light dagger like knife, and once in hand, it was oh yeah, I will take this one. The blade is light, so the axis lock really pushes it open and closed, almost assisting the opening and closing. The false edge or swedge probably could be a nice double edged mod. It is really slim, but ergos are still good.

One morning, I was lying in bed and I told the wife that I had a dream that I told her she should carry a good knife in her purse, and she did. So, she said, OK, I will take that one! I was a little taken aback, but said, ok, here you go!

She misplaced it for a month or so, but I found it while looking for something else in our closet. Today, she was halfing McDonald's cheeseburgers with it! It is a cheap way to feed 5 kids when we have a week night activity for them. She hid the knife under a box of fries while she went and got napkins to clean off the mustard. I love the 530, but I guess my wife loves it more. Maybe I need a "His" out of a His and Hers set.

Anyways, if you are into indoctrinating family members into your personal curse of knife nuttiness, and your target is a female, try the 530, it is slim, sexy and a real user. I chuckled at her using 2 hands to open it, and also getting confused which end is the cutting edge, she is careful, so it was fun to watch her. I dare not correct her, maybe throw out a blonde joke, but only after the knife is put away.

Man you guys are crazy, than and again I gave my ex a kershaw blur.....NEVER am I giving a woman a knife again....god was I crazy too. BAD IDEA.

Crazy like a fox. She bought me a BM 710 to replace that one. My ex wife, I would not buy a knife for, she would have stabbed me in my sleep, but that chapter is over in my life. I got a perfect woman now that I am honored to call my wife. She even knows how to clean pheasant and duck. Bad idea to marry the wrong woman, good idea to give a good wife a quality tool that may also provide some security and self defense for her, given that she is not afraid of it. I know she would use it if she really had to.

I love the 530 looks but my hands are too damn big :(....... I really love it though but my wife has the rei blue one. I use my 550 a lot though

When SWMBO was on the road with me, we went to a little store in Billings MT. I fell in love with a black Kershaw Chive. She told me to buy it so of course I did.
She then clipped it into her pocket and has had it ever since. One day perhaps I'll get to use it.

I agree with this, the axis lock is female friendly, as is the design. I recently bought mine a pink Native, she likes it, but the lock design is a bit tricky for her. They really should make the 530 in pink or purple, I think it would sell well.

My wife acts like she's scared to death of my knives. She asks "why do you have to get them so *%#@ sharp!?" About 5 years ago I bought her an Al Mar Osprey with pearl scales. It's so small she doesn't feel threatened by it and keeps it in it's pouch in her purse.

I had the same thing happen, just with a BM 950-1 Rift, they're all tricksters.

My girlfriend was a little into knives when we met , she had a Kershaw boot dagger and a few other odds and ends.
I gave her my small CRKT Viele Wasp , bought her a CRKT S-2 ( at first she didnt like it cuz it is pretty big but now she carries it in her purse ) , she also bought herself a Steel Warrior Toothpick at the hardware store.
She has bought me several knives since we met.

Great gal !! Love the stories guys , keep em coming !

That is freaky Grybs,

I bought my wife that exact knife for her first one. I told her she would have the coolest letter opener at her office, and it would be sheeple friendly as well. She lost that one though! It was not cheap either.

It's a good design, my son is pestering me for one. And REI has an exclusive version with blue handle and S30V.

Good choice...

Just got this and it's in S30V. My wife likes it and so we get to share this knife until I can get my own...

My wife uses hers all the time. It was worth paying retail.
