Buying a Busse??

I have always really liked knives and have collected them, but didn't really discover forums until recently, which has opened my eyes to many other brands I wouldn't have otherwise came across. Busse is a prime example.

I'll admit that the strong following behind Busse has sparked my interest and I would love to pick one up and see for myself. I have come to realize that buying a Busse of your own choosing takes a lot more effort than most knife manufacturers. I have been to the Busse website, but it seems buying a knife is slim choosing if at all possible. Are there any other distributors or do you have just hope to find a used one on Ebay or in the classifieds?

On a side note, what is deal with Busse and Swamp Rat? I thought they wer part of the same company, but I was on Swamp Rat's site and saw a note (or should I say WARNING) that read:

"If you call the Busse Shop regarding Swamp Rat Knife Works, we will NOT sell to you . . .ever! It is that simple and there are NO exceptions."

Sounds kind of heated??

As far as I know, the only official distributor is the Busse Company Store:
http://www.bussecompanystore.com

The Busse subforum of the Exchange is also very active, you can easily increase your collection if you are lucky enough to live in CONUS.

More knowledgable hogs will surely comment on the Swamp Rat thingy :)

The BusseShop sells Busse Combat blades,,,,,the SwampRat shop sells SwampRat blades,,,,, and the ScrapYard Shop sells scrapyard blades,,,,, one blade @ a time,,,limited editions, kinda sorta ,,,,,,If you have something in particular in mind,,,,watch the Busse/Swamprat/ScrapYard for sale section of the exchange and put an add in the *wanting to buy* section of the exchange. Kinda like hunting,,,,,you must stalk your quarry!!!!!!!! lol

With the economy in the tank, it's a buyer's market right now.

Watch the Exchange. If you become a BFC member, you can search the Exchange.

Welcome!

You might be surprised to hear that buying a Busse has never been easier than it is right now. As you have seen, there is only one knife avasilsble right now from Busse Combat, the HG55. This is the current sales model they use, put up one knife, take orders for a few weeks, then start making and shipping. This knife will be replaced soon (soon is a relative term in the Busse alternate univers), by a new model that wil be called the Tank Buster. No pics are available yet. There is one knife currently on sale att eh Busse Company Store

This is the only independent distributor of new Busse knives. The owner of that site is known here as idahoskunk.

So why is it easy to buy a Busse? Because the secondary market is flooded with choices, both new and used, and prices for the more common recent models has fallen. So check out the pic thread, look over the shots in the Collections thread, ask some questions and make a choice. Happy hunting!

btw, where do you live? You may be able to meet up with some other piglets and check out there knives.

Ask all kinds of questions. There is always new stuff coming out and plenty of fun to be had around here.

The ganza should be coming soon. That could be a very good shot at getting what you want or need. I haven't experienced it my self yet but from what I hear be WITH OUT MERCY WHEN IT COMES!

I do have several busse knives. Right now my personal favorite and first is nmsfno. Check them out! You won't be sorry with one of these.

I heard that, if you call Busse about Scrap Yard Knives, Dan has to sleep in the metal shed.
