We just bought a '07 Yokon & 2 family bankers couldn't loan below prime at 7 1/2 percent . Deciding to spend a lot of grandkid's inheritance [ see related rant W & C ] we paid a lot down & did the paperwork . Didn't care for the nunbers but Mom wanted the fully loaded Yukon. So be it.

Called State Farm to confirm insurance transfer & Fran asked if I got a good rate . When I told her she asked if I had a good credit rating. I'm in the low 8oo's & wife is in the very high 700's,I told her .
Ready.....
State Farm is giving me a 5.74 interest loan ! Haven'd figured the saved $$$ yet .

They also have a Visa card that pays a percent of purchases on your insurance if you zero it each month.

Mutual; funds are available & you may start with $250 & ADD $50 increments monthly.

Uncle [ financial wiz ? ] Alan :D

I bought a PT Cruiser. 0% interest. No Payments. Paid 100% cash.

The look on the salesman's face..... priceless.

"All down & no carrying charges" ! Good for you.
At my age I like to keep at least 20 K in savings .

I've done it several times but this Yukon was $ 42,230 & even has an entertainment center in the rear so you can watch DVD"s & use cordless earphones . Remote start...A ton of goodies.

uncle Alan - I recently watched a MotorWeek report on the new Tahoe/Yukon. They liked the new changes. Great looking truck!

Right on CB Guy!
When we got the '00 Intrepid R/T it was cash money.
The salesman asked me:
"Are you sure you don't want a loan?"

Three times :D
The last time I asked him if he didn't believe in saving up for something.

He couldn't cope.

Uncle Alan, Let us know how she handles on the high banks and on the flat dirt ovals ;)
Good on ya, you financial wizard!
Wanna help with my FAFSA forms?

Way to go!! It makes me happy to see you're enjoying the $$ that you earned and saved.

Very Best Wishes,
-Bob

Gott'a believe there is a kick-back on financing. Those bstds get a piece of extended warranty policies, dealer lube & maintainence policies ......

All in all, buying a new vehicle is a distasteful project. I know we got screwed along the way but we faught them down to the last round. ...

The " Silver bullet " as shown is a bit stiffer than my '01 & promises more MPG. My '01 delivers 20 MPG at 75 mph on the interstates. New one promises 22 MPG. Identical in size with the '01 but has a ton more goodies.
Ready ! Within a hundred dollars of the older one's cost.

No high-banks or contoured ovals . Too pretty to get wheel burns on the doors !

Thanks for the congrats BUT please note the tremendous savings by financing with State Farm.

Same color as above illustration .

At 9:25 today I was delivering a daughters birthday present to her bank. I was the first vehicle in the left-turn lane waiting for the arrow .... Wham ! Airhead plowed into the rear, BIGTIME

Lady a$$ended me so hard that all her airbags inflated. Big Mercury Marquis lost it's front end & had to be towed away . Broke my bumper valance & destroyed the back-up alarm system. I have a very sore back & am stiffening but should be okay.

My wife now sees why I won't buy a 'beer can" sized vehicle . That Merc would have hospitalized me,for sure.SIZE]

Uncle Alan :grumpy:

ps It's offically " Bike Week" starting today & they're everywhere.

U.A. - Oh no!!! Hopefully you're feeling alright and the situation ends quickly and as happily as possible for you.
