Buying a Rajkumar and related thoughts

The Rajkumar thread made me pause and wonder what was up with him as well as what could I do to help out? Then after seeing a photo of a Rajkumar blade, posted by Steve, I knew I wanted one for myself. Not for the style, but for the quality, plain and simple. I also hoped that there was perhaps a little commission money for him from the sale as I don't know how the kamis get paid. I must admit the Foxy Folly is most tempting, but I have elected to reduce HI's inventory by adopting a Rajkumar 18.5" Bashpati kuk with a combo brass & bone handle. It seems a bit on the unique side of things, at least for me, and "unique' translates into bright and shiny "gimmes"!

It appears his problems are beyond our ken and even our business, but my thoughts continue on about his hard times, the respect these shark infested waters show for the kamis, and my own ability to assist someone who needs a hand. I have received nothing but good karma myself from these same shark infested waters on this forum and will state that if Rajkumar can use some help in the future (after Mrs. Martino finds out just what his issues are) I will pay back some of that karma by helping out.

Karma's a wonderful thing. Typing this with one hand while I hold a magnificent damascus dagger in the other is cool too.

You deserve some good Karma and I have no doubt of your helping Raj if there's a way to do so.

auntie will let us know, I asked that my donations be given to raj even if he did not come back to HI, to maybe give him a hand -- either way I hope he comes back, if he does not he left a legacy of blades much like the great bura, I do not think anyone was as good at swords or elaborate blades as raj kumar !

good call bookie, anything we can do to help that master craftsman out, I am with you in this offer.

Bookie - you'll love the Bashpati, I have it's twin! I'll post a pic of mine later. My Rajkumar Bashpati lives in my nightstand...:)

Here's my baby:

Looks I am correct for a change. It has to be good karma because no one laughed at me for a change. Cul, that is a fine looking blade. If you get tired of babysitting it, just send it over here to Corn Patch. I just happen to know a feller who'd just love to do you a favor and take that chore off your hands.......

I think that Bookie's Bashpati will be beautiful, but not quite a twin:

Beautifully done 18 inch 26 ounce Bashpati by Rajkumar. Bone and brass comination handle....

I think I remember that one, that's gorgeous. His head gonna swell up big as the Hindenburg. That's sweet. Can't wait to hear his reaction and would love to watch it come out of the box.

I have a much smaller bone handled version that I love very much. Same poppa, no one knows the mother, she run off on us.

I would have replied to this thread sooner, but I've been out on the drive building a bonfire while waiting for the mailman to arrive. Probably be a mite cool before morning and sure I don't want to miss him! Yes! Oh, yes!! My spider sense is going off telling me that it's already airborne and heading to one of the big cities around these parts, like Pisgah, Clyde, or Charter Oak.

Hindenburg Zeppelin?
That's how I swell up roughly 30 mins after Taco Bell. Also at least as flammable, if not more.

Jens, you're a man after my own heart. I've went through life thinking I was the only person to suffer like that! Unfortunately for the wife, I act like the Hindenburg did as it came in for it's final landing.......
