Well I had to see what all the hype was about with Sebenza's. Since I carry pretty much all my knives I don't mind buying preowned and not "perfect". I just don't want to loose a bunch of money though , just in case I decide to sell. So I found a Large Sebenza , S30V blade, unique graphic with inlay for what I thought was a good deal. It does show signs of carrying and it does not come with box or paperwork. My question is , did I make a mistake buy purchasing like this ?

You have made a horrible mistake !!! In fact that knife will no longer even cut without the paperwork and you should immediately send it to me for proper disposal !!

No you should be fine as long as you didn't pay a premium price for it. From what I've seen not having the box or paperwork will knock off about 30$ from the selling price. That's what I've seen at least.

You probably got a much better deal because it didn't come with a box that you didn't need anyway.

As for the knife--use and enjoy it. If you ever decide you don't like it, odds are you'll get every penny back.

Lastly, CRK has will refurbish the knife for a nominal fee and make it look like new. I did it once--I sent it without a box, and it came back in a new CRK box. On the other hand, since you're going to use it, it might not be worth refurbishing it.

Thanks for the replies, What would a "premium" price be ? I didn't get it for under $300 but it was close.

For a unique graphic with inlay, you got a great deal, IMO. Although there are always exceptions, even lightly used large plain models usually go for over $300.

Go ask the same question in the CRK forum--you'll get more information there.

Photos would be helpful too.

I didn't even think about posting the question there, if the MODs want to move this there that is cool.

I don't have pictures yet, I'll probably get the knife by the end of next week.

If you're going to keep it and use it, it doesn't matter at all. If you want to resell it, the lack of paper goods may result in a slower or lower sale, or both. Either way, I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Sounds like you got a good deal.

Just from my experience, I much prefer buying Sebenzas used because you don't have that initial fear of messing it up yourself. It's already in a used state so at this point, you can't really do much harm to the tank of a knife. Seriously, enjoy that knife. I loved every that I've owned.

If, as suggested by Steve in your other thread, this has a BG-42 blade, ya done real good on this one - congrats would be in order for sure!
