I would love to buy myself a basic membership, I followed the link for non-US customers here, but didn't see basic membership on there, I dont need to sell, but I would get a gold if i cant get one. Thank you!

Basic memberships are not available to non-US members. I would imagine that is because $10.00 would barely cover the amount of time it takes to get the payment approved using the manual stystem.

aww shucks! I figured that if you could change your username on the non-automated system, then you could get a basic membership.

Yeah maybe i will splurge and get a gold (i wanted a basic though :grumpy:)

ps. I just realized that ive gone over 1000 posts! :D

The automated system is not supposed to work for members outside the US but it seems it sometimes works for Canadians. If you keep trying, try different credit cards, it might work for you.

ok, thanks cougar, what would happen if it didn't work? would i get an email or something?

It'll tell you your credit card was rejected immediately. I think it'll tell you it's an address match error.

If you don't mind wasting your time you might as well give it a try; some Canadians have gotten it to work. I don't know what the secret is, though, and it may not work no matter how many times you try it.

Ok im buying the gold membership via the onestop knife shop. I hate to be picky, but the gold membership on the automated system is $25 and the other site is $30... is there a reason for this?

As per the FAQ, we have to enter in your gold membership info by hand, so that extra $5 off is for using the automated system. Before the automated system was in place, all Gold memberships were $25.

the reason i was confused was because the platinum membership is the same with both methods. Thanks again!
