I know it's off topic but I'm sure it will be of interest to every one here. Just went to pay for my latest auction win and the PayPal option is gone. Anyone else running into this? I had always thought PayPal and eBay were in an incestious mandatory relationship.
 
There was a lot of media about it at the beginning of the year, but I didn't read that PayPal was going to replaced until 2021-2023. The existing eBay-PayPal agreement ends in 2020, but PayPal has to be offered as a payment option through 2023 (just not featured).

This article does mention that you may encounter the new payment system as soon as the second half of 2018 and that PayPal will still be offered through 2023:

I guess one of the big benefits to eBay users is that it will be integrated into eBay, which will no longer require you to go to another website for payments or link your account to another website.

My understanding is the seller has to opt out of PP otherwise they have to accept it? I can't see any seller opting out?? I'm not a business so it's a way people can pay me with a CC or whatever, checks aren't as reliable as they use to be, people figured out they can stop payment after they receive the product... As a private person, not a business, I can't accept CC's any other way.
 
Two days ago, I bought a book on eBay and PayPal was an option.
