Newbie to Busse, but I'll be attending Blade this year and would like to pick up some INFI. Is there any special procedure to purchasing INFI at Blade? Is it pretty much first come, first serve () or is there something like display models that are only sold when the show ends? (:thumbdn:)

This probably sounds like a stupid question, but I believe there are some makers who only bring display blades, and will only sell some after a show is over!:barf:

Bring a shiv and some goggles and tie your credit card around your neck. :D

Not been there myself, but by all accounts prepare to be trampled in the stampede.

Not stupid at all.

My suggestion? Although I've only been once ...

Show up early. Get a VIP pass from a maker on BladeForums so you can enter at noon on Friday. BE SURE TO ARRIVE WELL BEFORE NOON ... an awesomely long line forms.

Head straight to Busse's booth. We should hear the number and location before the Day.

Hang in and find out what The Man has decided to do. Last year, he brought out a portion of the knives every single hour. That way, everyone had an honest chance to score.

It was exhausting, but it was great.

I'll look for you there. I'll be the old physicist standing, probably, right behind the giant, gray-haired guy (MikeH).

Anarchy and Madness!! "Crazed Stamped" is too kind !!

Review the pics from the last few years and get some long arms and strong elbows!!:D:thumbup:

True, true.

Fortunately, after 3 decades on Active Duty, I no longer have a normal fear response. Well, that plus all the nerve damage ...

Most of the bruises were gone in just two weeks. And I don't really miss those toes. :D;)

Oh no, it sounds like a mosh pit spending frenzy!! Well, I'm halfway there, with a VIP Pass, but I better get my tent and camp out in front Thursday night!

I'm going to look for pics from previous years - didn't think to do that...

Man, I sure hope to score a custom SFNO or HOGFSH by the end of the day on Friday, but if I do, I am sure I will be broke until the next Blade!!!

Getting there early helps - but this is a marathon. Endurance is the key! You will be up all hours!! Pillow fights, Ash competitions, and game shows!!

(a good sense of humor will also come in handy - ask Princess Progunner):D;)

I heard that it was a first come first serve stampede starting on Friday morning, then I went to Blade '07 and things had changed, now boxes of knives are opened randomly at designated times so you need to stick around all three days to see everything they are going to sell.

That kind of screwed up my plans as I was committed to other things on Saturday and left Atlanta on Sunday. This year I have planned accordingly.

Busse should have several display models which are not for sale, every knife that comes out of the box is for sale. My advice is get to the Busse booth, work for a good position, wait for a box to be opened and be assertive. Hopefully you will be able to snag something you want.

And bring lots of CASH!! Bags of it!!

The fever will strike and things like rent, food and other non necessities will go by the wayside!

I'd wear chainmail and bring a small spear.

Another option is to wear a HazMat suit and attempt to convince others there's been an outbreak.

Good advice! I could've used that spear last year.

It's definitely an experience you won't forget. :D

Oh, and if you want to give MikeH any competition, you better bring some stilts!

Here's some idea what it was like last year trying to get a blade, it got so crazy Jerry was just throwing the cardboard sleeves out and whoever grabbed it was the one that got to buy it.

Yeah, pretty insane!! But gets your blood going and is a complete BLAST!! Maybe you get nothing, but you go away happy none-the-less!!

I wish I could go, looks like a ton of fun. I'm going to plan a vacation for it next year.

You will be walking towards the booth... You will feel a strong breeze from behind... Then a rush, much squealing, pain as you fall under, then sweet blackness... When you awake, there will be hoofprints all up and down your back, and the Trough, my friend... Will be bare. THEN, you will know what it is like to be casually shopping for Busse knives at BLADE.

I see the same guys in almost every picture and they never seem too change places or shuffle around during the day. Do you think they were those special astronaut diapers?

That is a great idea!! :D

Wear one of those astronaut diapers for a few days, and then casually release the velcro just as a box is being opened  Might clear out the trough real quick....

Plenty of space around me = More INFI for me
