Hello All! I've been scouring through these forums looking at all the beautiful custom hand made knives and am very keen to start my own collection. I was wondering if there is any place where the custom makers from here list their current items or something similar? I'm from Australia so going to the knife shows isn't an option for me unfortunately, although I would love to some day when I visit the states.
In either case maybe it would be cool to have a central point where custom knives could be listed or even the makers who are willing could take orders and receive enquires or something similar. Excuse my ignorance if something like this is already in place.
Keep up the awesome forging everyone!

Hey mate and welcome to the forums.
Im not sure if I'm being obvious or missing something.
If you have a look at the "for sale: fixed blades" area of the knife makers market area here you will see some great knives for sale. New stuff cimes up pretty regularly. Several knifemakers also have their own sub forums here.

As for shows in Oz, the Sydney International Knife Show is next month and the Adelaide Knife show is in November.

Be aware importing knives into Australia means being across the laws and restrictions. I have never had any dramas but you should have a look at the Customs website for details.

Hi Chris, Thanks for the fast reply. I'm the one who was obviously missing something lol I had been specifically looking through the custom section and completely missed the fact that there was a for sale section. I'll have to see if we have any knife shows in Melbourne! As far as i'm aware the only knives we can't import are assisted or automatic opening knives. I have imported many fixed and folding knives without a problem.

Wow, im looking in the for sale section, now i feel silly for posting here! I guess i got too excited

also, some members and collectors often have knives for sale on sites they post their images of knives to so look at the signature files of members and you just might find something that tickles your fancy

Yes, Welcome to the BF.
Keep digging around the internet, you'll find that fine custom knives are readily available.

You can also start to meet collectors on here who can be on the look out for certain stuff for you, as well as sell/buy/trade. Stay around! This is a great and very active forum.

There is also a knifemakers forsale section, not just an individual forsale area.

fyi Melbourne has a show every year. this years has already been and its a customs only as far as knives go
