I am going to buy either a Tigershark or a Seal in the future, for a hard use camp knife, and wanted to know which is better. Also, would a Seal Pup or a Pentagon be good for a bug out blade?

silenthunterstudios,

While I don't own the seal 2000, I do own a SOG Tigershark and I LOVE it :D
It's sharp right out of the box(And I mean SHARP  ) , looks Really impressive and it feels great in the hand, I got mine on e-bay for $100,And I say it's worth every cent.
I would guess that the Tigershark is better for chopping/hacking chores
than a seal 2000, but you probably have more control with the latter.

However the Kraton handle on the Tigershark is easier to damage than the handle of the seal 2000 which is made of zytel, but from what I hear it (kraton) provides a better/more comfortable grip.

Anyway from what I hear I don't think you can go wrong with a SOG. :) ,
I think you will be pleased with either one.

BTW, Did you see this thread (Sog tigershark) It's got some Info. :)

"hard use camp knife" ......
-- I'd go with the Tigershark because of weight, it's my favorite big-job whacker & hacker.
-- IMHO, the SEAL 2000 is a bit light for serious W'ing & H'ing, too much hand shock for me.

I'm not sure what a "bug out" blade is ..... I keep a SOG Tech I (6" fixed blade) in my car.

Cheers,

Carl

Get the Tigershark! If, later on, you find it to be too big, you can always take a hacksaw to the blade to shorten it up alittle.:D.
