Buying ESEE 4 knife but confused on sheathing options

Gang was just fixing to hit the button on purchasing an ESEE 4 knife but was also watching a youtube video that pointed out the sheathing to me.

I want to carry the knife in a traditional way on my belt. It seems the normal sheath that comes with the knife doesn't attach to a belt. No where for the belt to go through anything.

Can someone point me in the right direction as to what sheathing option I need to attach this to my belt in a normal way, meaning I want it to hand straight down and not be sideways or attached to other things such as a tac vest.

I've looked at them but not up on all the terminology to know half about what they are talking about.

Was going to order this one with a clip. Will it work or should I be getting another modeled sheath: http://www.knifeworks.com/ratcutlerymodel4kydexsheathwithmollelocksplainedge.aspx

Also this seems to be best pricing but if someone knows of another place cheaper that is also reputable I'd be interested in that.

Thanks for the help.

You can clip that factory sheath on the inside of your belt, outside of your pants. You can use the paracord that comes with it to make belt loops on the sheath.

If you want a lower hanging sheath, you should look into getting one with a MOLLE back. Those have an additional velcro and elastic blade retention, and you can wear them like a traditional belt knife.

The sheath options that are available from ESEE are shown on their website. The sheath issue is in part why I tend to buy other brands versus ESEE. The clip option is the one that has the most appeal to me, but it is certainly not as secure as the Teklock. I personally would like to see a standard kydex sheath with a piece of canvas and belt attachement that is available. Simple is good. It is a fairly standard design for woods use.

The one you posted the link to will do what you need it to. The clip shown in the pic will attach to the sheath and that will allow it to be clipped to your belt.

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the help. THink I got it all figured out now.

Really had a hard time with this decision. Was thinking I'd go with the 3 but after researching on here it appears most prefer the 4 and some that bought the three would get the 4 if they did it again.

Still thinking about it. Got a Seal Pup Elite, Cold Steel SRK, Ontario ASEK and a few other not so notable knives. So I have several large blades and thought the 3 would fit a nitch for an EDC around the farm but seems like the 4's the one really preferred.

Again I appreciate all the help.

The BK2 is a tank. I have one and it stays home in its original box. Can't really figure out what I would use it for that I don't have 5 other knives that fit the same purpose other than pounding holes into the top of a car. The BK-16 or BK-17 is quite a useful size. I like the SOG Seal Pup Elite (satin plain edge).

I just have a good leather guy make a sheath. I order ESEE knives without the sheath, saving enough money to pay for part of the cost of a good leather sheath.

I was at a store earlier in the week to get a BK2 and look at it but they were out of stock so I had to order it. They did have the bk17 though and I liked it so much I started to go ahead and get it but had seen so much on the bk2 I resisted and came hoe and ordered the bks. I liked it enough though in person I will probably get one after these two are in and I get another check or two, lol.

Speaking of Esee sheath systems can anyone tell me what the name of the little screw/post thingies that attach the Esee belt clip to the Esee 6 kydex sheath? And, where can I get them? The belt clip works fine but I have lost one of those thingies.
