Buying from the store solution

In my quest to obtain my first Busse I have learned a few things.

1) If you want to buy one from the aftermarket you will pay a large premium over the store price.

2) Actually buying one from the store seems to be impossible.

Being the nerd I am, I think I found a solution. I wrote a program in Perl script that will continuously check the order page for available knives and if something is available it will automatically order and pay for one. It does all of the work and I never have to do anything. Maybe a little sneaky, but from reading the posts here you can't always play fair.

That's pretty smart :)

Your mistake was telling everyone about your evil plan, because now all the nerdhogs will follow your example and you will lose your newfound advantage ;)

Or your program might have a few 1's and 0's in the wrong place and you'll end up with a few hundred dollars worth of lanyards or hog tags. ;)

The upcoming limit/per buy that Skunk will be implementing will make what was once impossible, possible....no need for the software high-jinks that'll bring the site down and so forth.

I must have missed that. Are they implementing a limit per order? If so, great idea.

A limit per order, but not a limit on the number of orders. Skunk mentions it on another thread from today. I also think its a great idea.

I dunno. Somehow I think Skunk might not appreciate that - or just add a whole bunch of lanyards, one-at-a-time onto the site just to slam your shipping costs. ;) MAybe not. That's my gut feeling.

Honestly, I think Skunk tries real hard to keep it as even as possible. It's really just been the Game Wardens that have been trouble b/c the too-many-options and too-few-of-each model issues. How long were Hell Razors in the store for? Seemed like a while to me. I didn't have too much trouble getting one.

Skunk could put things up at 6pm EST and stiff out the working guys on the left-coast who don't have daytime internet access. Heck, the Skeletons, he put them up in 3 batches for cryin out loud. (Of course, I missed all 3 batches by minutes each time +/-. LOL)

I'd tread lightly only b/c the dude that tried to circumvent the entire system got Skunk awful mad. (Granted, he was hacking in, but still. . . )

I still wanna know how a person can hack in and load a 'shopping cart' with items not even listed yet??? I believe that I read that right in 'Skunk's post. NOW i feel like a computer illiterate, I'm lucky if I can keep Windows from crashing! LOL jeez
