Buying Good Knives in Thailand

Hi,

I live in Thailand and the only shops that sell quality knives sell at crazy prices. (e.g. 450USD for a EKI CQC 13) There is a high 'Luxury' Import tax here and the reliable shops are all in Super High Class shopping centres / malls, which pushes the prices up even more.


Does anyone know any small shops in Bangkok or anywhere in Thailand that sell genuine items without the luxury price tags? I've seen a few Emerson's in MBK Bangkok but they were in a shop that sold fake watches so assumed they'd be fake too.

If you check on the forums exchange section you will fairly often see some EKIs at good prices.

I have no idea about shops in Thailand but I think that shop you already go to is pretty much the best bet.
Some of the shops here in Taiwan sell Emersons at twice the price they are in the UK even.

Also this might be better in the Good, bad and ugly forum. :thumbup:
 
I'll sort shit out once my basic membership comes as Terry Gilliam seems to have gotten himself involved somewhere in my upgrade process. I'm waiting for my refund first then have to pay the basic fee again.

He already has a few, he has a real nice kerambit someone did for him too :rolleyes::p

Spark will get you fixed up soon, there seems to be a few hickups
with international memberships of late but its all in good hands. :thumbup:
 
Cheers guys - I'll check out the Thai sites or just source EKI'sthrough the forum. Here's some pics of the 3 I have - I got rid of my CQC7 as I hated the serrations. Would buy another but unwaved and plain edged definitely. No need for the wave on the 12 (will be removing mine soon) or on the 7's in my opinion. But like it on the Karambits.
The special edition (Tanto) 14 Snubby is my next target - but a standard one would do. I want an HD7, a La griffe and a Persian now after drooling over the pimped / framelocked ones.

Karambit is greatly improved by Haze's pimping. Can't wait to see what he can do for my 12.
