Just wondering... from the research I have done, I can't seem to find any vendors that sell the husqvarna hatchet/axes. I have looked through the husqvarna site to check out what vendors near my area (GTA, Ontario) sell these products. The husqvarna site shows me a lot of places near my area, however, these are all powertool shops! Viewing the products on their sites, also show that the hatchet/axes are not sold there...

Has anyone around this region been able to buy a husqvarna hatchet/axe? Also It doesn't seem to exist in amazon.ca!!

Try calling those local chainsaw dealers. They may stock them without putting them on the website.

Hi Square_peg,

Thanks for the quick response. That shall be my next step for sure! Hope they have it, I really like how these axes can perform almost the same as a gransfors bruks, while being 1/2 the cost.

The Husqvarna axes these days are probably made by Hultafors, and there's a .com store in Canada called BigBearTools that has a range of similar Hultafors (and Agdor brand) axes available.

They are definitely available in Canada, I've bought three including two Husqvarna branded Wetterlings at my local Husqvarna chainsaw dealer (I'm in Newfoundland but from central Ontario).

I'd try calling one of the bigger chainsaw dealers on the outskirts of the city that also sells motorbikes/snowmobiles/ATVs, maybe like Brampton Power Sports, even if they don't carry axes they can likely order one in for you. Failing that you can always pay Lee Valley Tools a visit and pick up a Granfors Bruks! :)

You could also pick up a Hultafors which as far as I know are making the current Husqvarna axes, Big Bear Tools now sells them online, as well as Bushcraft Canada

ended up buying a hultafors from bushcraft canada in the end...jsut arrived today and I am really excited. I am no expert in axes but there seems to be some slight splintering at the top of the axe shaft....not the wedge but it must ahve splintered a bit when they put in the wedge. It still feels solid as a rock but is that something to be concerned about? I will take a picture and post some day lol right now im too excited about it.
