were is the best place to buy one? im adding a 110 to my edc, it will be riding with a emerson hd-7 this will be for the smaller jobs and what not. thanks alot :) also i am willing to spend up to $100 to get one with a good steel. do any of them have bos heat treatment??

Wally World has them for 30.00 with real good steel...Googel Buck 110 BG42,SV30 ect to find a current special project or E;bay for anything else...Like Bos...

Hi tgiannes,

While you can get a 110 with the standard 420HC blade (which is a good steel with Buck's heat treatment) from any number of retailers, if you want something special look at the Custom Knife Shoppe at www.buckknives.com for better blade steels and different handle materials. Presently you can get a 110 with BG-42 or ATS-34 blade, fingergrooves or not and a choice of several wood colors for less than $100 before shipping. I have several 110's with the premium blade steel and they are definitely excellent edge-holders.

Since all 110's are made here in the USA, the heat treatment of all the blades is overseen by Paul Bos.

Also consider the Bass Pro 110 with a CMP154 blade or Cabelas Alaskan Guide 110 with S30V. Both have the Bos heat treat stamp and both are around $70.

For me, so far, the S30V AG110 from Cabellas has been the sharpest out of the box 110 I have ever had my hands on. And stays sharper longer.

Drive out at our wally for a standard 110 is currently around $28. I expect Academy Sportings to be running them on sale soon. Academy ran them for around $19 at the end of 2005. The Idaho tang stamp.

I just saw an ad in the local news rag that Dick's Sporting Goods has the Buck 110 for $19.99 after a mail-in rebate for $10. America! :DWhat a country!!:D

For this price range I would agree with packrat, the cabelas 110 Alaskan guide is hard to beat.

Otherwise the custom shop for right around 100.00! You can't go wrong with any 110 ;)

What he said. I'm going to add a BP 110 to this set soon...
