I was thinking about getting a s30v blur or the speedform 2, i also like the ZT 350s but it seems a little beefy for what i want. Can someone give me a reccomendation? Id just be using it to edc when i cant edc a fixed blade :) nothing all that strenious on the knife except for its cutting ability.

As these things always start out, it would be helpful is you told folks what you intend to do with it.

I have several Kershaws. All of them winners, and they have enough selection in their product line that they make everything from gentlemen's knives to absolute monster work knives. If you match the knife to the tasks, you will no doubt be pleased with your new Kershaw.

As a comment on those mentioned by you, the Blur is an excellent EDC. I am in construction and use mine all the time as an EDC. As light and slender as it is, the knife is great for my kind of work. It is light, flat (rides in the pocket very well), deploys easily, and with its slight hollow grind it is an excellent slicer. And of course you get Kershaw's legendary customer service.

Like Orion said, the Skyline is a great choice. I have one and I gifted one to my brother. I don't own a Speedform 2, but I've heard great things about ELMAX steel.

if you want a slicer/cutter that is lightweight, the Skyline fills that role well. However, I found it to be too thin. That said, I have never carried my Skyline more than a couple of times. The Speedform 2 on the other hand, out-slices/out-cuts the Skyline, feels better in the hand (for me at least), and is carried much more often. I favor it over the Blur, and they're about the same price, almost twice the price of the Skyline.

I think the Speedform 2 would be an excellent choice, kind of like a super Leek. Elmax takes an edge surprisingly easily, but it holds it for a long time and is as tough as M4. It's performed very well for me in my 0551.

I guess you've already heard its horn tooted plenty of times, but I'd recommend a Leek for EDC over a Blur: it's an ounce lighter, thinner, costs less, and has a frame lock - which is pretty nice in my book. At first I was put off by the blade shape, but for daily tasks I think it outperforms the Blur's larger recurve blade. And just personal taste here, the Leek looks classier and less off-putting than the Blur. I like my Blur ,too, but for outdoor work. I choose to EDC the Leek.

Leek and Skyline are my favorite Kershaws for EDC. Thin, lightweight, and they are almost unnoticeable clipped towards the back of your pocket. There is a S30V version of the Leek with G10 handles instead of stainless steel if you're set on S30V.

I love the Blur and the Leek. The Leek has a smaller profile and just disappears into your pocket. The Blur is more substantial, but still has a nice flat line that is not bulky at all. My Blur has a Krein regrind, and is just a super all around utility knife. Grippier than the Leek, too. I've never had a Speedform, so I can't speak to the shape or to Elmax.

Either one would be a great choice, but I would go with the Speedform 2. It's a very handy size and weight and for a minimum investment you get to play with one of the top steels on the market. Honestly, given the materials and design I'm surprised the Speedform 2 doesn't cost half again as much as it does. Elmax and 3-D machined G10 for under $100 is an absolute steal.

The Blur is great for EDC, I carry it most of the time. I would avoid the tanto blur for any heavy use since the tip is a bit thin. Never had a speedform, or a skyline so cant comment. Leek is nice, but the lock can be a pain and the blade is too thin for anything more than light use. The 0350 is nice, has a thin profile but is bulkier than Blur, the flipper is nice to have.

I'd suggest the Blur over the Leek. Both good knives, but the blade on the Leek is too thin for my taste. You might wanna consider a Rake as well. I love my Rake! :D

The Blur is a bulkier, beefier knife as compared to the SpeedForm II, which has a slimmer carry profile and pointier design. The SpeedForm II is more of a slicer. The Blur's assisted opening "SpeedSafe" system will be interesting if you haven't tried it yet.

The ZT would be a goof choice if you wanted something a little more heavy duty than the other two.

Get a Kershaw Bump - its a "mini ZT" assisted opener - but still a good sized knife
