Buying Pants

I was shopping a few days ago and found a nice pair of jeans. Very nice cut, fit me like a glove. I'm not affraid to say it, I looked damn good in them, too! I was in the changing room and then decided to put them to the true test. I pulled my BM710, and Delica out of my pants I came in with and slid them into my L&R pockets respectively. The pockets carried too high! I realized that if I was to buy them, I could only carry in my backpockets. I almost didn't buy the pants.
Am I alone with this problem?

Naww.. If they have a lanyard hole you can put small thread in & wear it forwards or in your back. When the SHTF you just pull hard & the knife is ready to go. No lanyard hole.. you are out of luck except, for Mexican carry. :)

Oops, I forgot the sock carry. Leo often misses this one. Hope this helps you. :)

Moving to Gadgets & Gear ... you'll find some threads on pants there already....

I carry loose in the bottom of my pocket. The pockets have to be deep enough so that everything stays put when sitting.
There is nothing worse (well, almost) than losing a knife.

That was actually very funny - seeing a thread titled "Buying Pants" in a general knife area. Cracked me up.

I was actually thinking something like this the other day. I have a few pairs of Levi's and realized that they have the shallowest pockets, some of the highest pockets, and some of the slimmest pockets of any jeans. I stopped buying them specifically for that reason. It's easier to carry an EDC and slip my habd past the knife for keys etc. with larger pockets. As far as high or low, I can get used to either.

Glad it's not just me.
Never really thought of pants as gadjets or gear, though. I was just wondering if the general populace of the forums ever considered this while shopping.

I tend to go with Gap khakis myself, as they tend to have very deep pockets. The right hand pockets also seem to have a mini pocket sewn into the bottom of them that work well for keys, pocket knives, chapstick, etc..

I used to get most of my clothes at Wally World and Target, except for nice clothes, by that I mean a suit and dress pants. Now, I shop at Burlington for shirts and pants, can't really go into the office wearing ratty jean shorts and an Offspring t. I used to shop at Sunnys Surplus for cargo pants, got some good deals. They also held up much better on hikes, much moreso than my WW and Target brands.
