Did a little short field test this morning, some chopping and battening through a log with lots of knots in it. It did very well even on the frozen wood. You can see the blade flexing, but it straightened out perfect once I removed it.

I love those blade flex pictures. I have a couple of those with my M9LE. Thin is in!

That's the best way to really put some hard stress on a blade, batten one though a log with a lot of big knots in it. :D

Is the right word for hitting a blade with a piece of wood to split lumber "baton" or "batten"? I always thought the correct word was "to baton", but it's not in the dictionary. ???

I think knife nuts are the only people who use baton as a verb. It's a stick. To beat with a stick is to "baton". I guess.

However one spells it, nice job and good pics, Ankerson.

Thanks. :D

Have to break out the Edge Pro and redo the edge when I get a chance, might put a nice 15 degree edge on it (30 degrees total). :)

It's still shaving sharp though.

Bro, that's some nice flex shots!!! I remember seeing an AK done that way a couple years ago. Glad to see Jerry making this blade, BWM that is...

Very cool pics. I also find that the sage coating wears nice with use. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the pics Ankerson! I ordered the same color combo, and am very happy to see yours as it looks great. I love blades that are light and fast in the hand. The FFBM is a beast and very fun to use, but the BWM will provide practical use in more scenarios.

I believe batten is a navel ship term, ie. to batten down the hatches. Baton is a length of wood (which kinda works for the navel term also) ie. a police officers club.
