BWM vs. B11, thoughts?

quick, while I have my credit card out!

I have a B11 but am thinking of getting a BWM. I'm entertaining the thought of selling off the B11 to have extra cash for the latter, but they are different knives and I feel I'd be losing something if I got rid of the B11.

Any thoughts? BWM is :thumbup:? B11 is :thumbup:?... keep both :D?
 
I would keep the b11. I had one and really liked it. I think it would make a better user than the bwm. You could buy a junglas for Like 160 which I basically a poor mans bwm. I saw someone did a head to head comparison and they were almost exactly the same except the junglas is 1/3 the price with an amazing sheath.

The BWM has an additional value of being a collection item to me because there's one for sale whose colors match two of my other knives, so I'm definitely going to get it over anything else... just can't decide what to do with the B11.
And didn't you sell your B11 off shortly after you got it? I remember you started a thread on it and said you just couldn't get used to it :p
 
I preferred the BWM over the b11 myself, just felt the b11 handle was to small and always felt like it was going to fly out of my hand while chopping.
 
With what all is going on now, I would keep the B11, compare to B10, keep at least 1 of them, save for nmfsh, then decide if you really want a BWM in light of the possibility of a light brigade mistress
 
Hey Gary! Well, you know how I feel :D And you know your CABS and BJ need a big brother :thumbup:

I miss my B11 a lot, but I will never sell my BWM...
 
BWM is my favorite "do all big knife", not sure if I am going to keep my B11 (kind of feel I should but the BWM is just head and shoulders above in terms of feel for me). The BWM is a monster chopper, while not as heavy as my NMFBM it gives up very little for the increased ease of carry. If I could only have 1, it would be the BWM (love the feel and grip it gives).
 
I don't know what to expect from the NMFSH honestly... wasn't planning on getting it. I was planning on the LBNMSHBM too but who knows when that or the NMFSH are coming. I'm getting the BWM as a "collection" only because it matches my others, but I want to use them too, soon as possible.

The difference between the B10 and B11 is just an inch or so, doesn't seem much... plus the asymmetrical grind possibly.

BBQ BOY, if you're serious about buying one, I'll follow up if I decide to sell it...

both great blades, but I really like the feel of the basic 11. so many of the big blades have such long handles, it feel like there is too much extra space for your hand to move around on. that's why I got rid of my KZII, the Old Busse steel hearts and Battle mistresses didnt' have this problem, and felt perfect in the hand, like a glove.
 
I've had a bwm for a long time and now that I have my b11 i don't see my bwm getting much use. The b11 clears brush and out chops knives way heavier than it, and a more comfortable handle. Just my .02
 
Alright, I took the plunge. Guess I'll hold 'em both and see what I think of the B11 afterward
 
I kinda have the same feelings except its the other way around - i have a BWM that i absolutely love, but Im thinking about getting a B11
 
Enjoy. The B11 is one I will probably always keep. I really like the feel of the BWM handle. Very comfortable. I believe I like it better than the fusion and the straight handles!!!!

The BWM is a great overall size and thickness for a general purpose camp knife. It can chop, and food prep because it is thinner. Can't go wrong. It won't outchop the B11. I do love the feel of the Res C handle when chopping (I wear xxl gloves, which are tight).

I would like another Res C handle with a bit more space (regulator handle would be cool on the b11!).
 
Definitely dig my BWMLE. Have a Chuddy Bear sheath which makes for a sweet set up. Unfortunately never held the B11 so cannot offer a good compare.
 
i have the b11 and the BWM and they are both great. some days i just can't decide which one to carry or play with. i like the bwm handle shape better but i love the res c handles. I think you should hold on to them both if you can afford it :)
