I just read on the Swissbianco subforum that the Wenger SI is being discontinued. That pretty much sucks! I do prefer the Vic Soldier but it's still nice to have that piece of history and a proper military shield available.:thumbdn:

Stock up while supplies last I guess.

That's sad, but not surprising IMO. I expected the SI to be discontinued when Victorinox stopped producing the alox Soldier. Fortunately I got an SI, don't carry it very often.

That is grim news indeed!You would think with the Alox Soldier discontinued that Wenger would keep the SI alive.It does'nt make any sense to me.
 
Since Vic owns Wenger maybe they don't want the SI competing with the Pioneer. They will probably save alot of money too not having to keep roduction going for the SI blade and scales.
 
That sucks. The SI is only Wenger I've ever truly taken to, and is one of my two all-time favorite SAKs. No surprise though. When Wenger lost the contact with the Swiss Army for the SI, the writing was on the wall.
