SeanH, Loveland is not that far from me. I live in Aurora. If you are interested, I do have an 18" AK that you could check out. And I don't have a GS, yet, so I'd be interested in checking it out. It could be a BYOK (Bring Your Own Khukri) meet. We could maybe meet somewhere, and make some firewood, with the khuks. Let me know if you're interested. Either here on the board, or email me at hvyhaul@comcast.net
Hey, anyone else in Colorado want to meet up? Could be lots of fun.

Bill

Sounds like a great way to spend a staurday! I'm in.

Couple o weeks from now OK? I have at a large "Honey Do" list to whittle down.

How 'bout it Folks? Would anyone else in the Northern Colorado area like to get together and play ...er.. exchange knowledge and technique?

North Platte is not too far away from Loveland. Have family in Ft. Collins and Cheyenne so a trip that way might be a good idea.

Chris B. will probably make the meet and there are others. Hope it comes to fruition because it will be a gathering of good guys and these tend to be a great time.

Don't know about the rest, but I'm OK with a Sunday. That would give you a full day with family.

Cool!
I wonder where we can find a place that has a variety of targets?

My brother lives in Windsor, it sure has grown!. Is the Kodak plant still there?
I wish I could come. :(
You've got quite a nice collection.....

Saturdays or Sundays are fine by me. However Oct 25 and 26 are out. I have Navy Reserve drill that weekend.

southeast of Austin, Texas that is, just a bit far to travel and the weather isn't going to be very good for the bike up that way. From what I hear from a friend in northern Kansas the weather at night is just a bit cool up there already. Hope ya'll can get things worked out. I know you will have a great time. :) :)

Pappy we woke up to 39* here in Tulsa the other morning. It was 34* 50 miles north in Bartlesville.  :grumpy:

I know the guys are gonna have a great time!!!! The Khuk Khonvention that was held here was wonderful!!!! Chris came down from Colorado, Dave, Ruel & 'Hawk came came up from Tejas. T-Bone, otherwise known as Terry Sisco and his dad were here along with Sandie, T-Bone's wife. My b-i-l Merle, Uncle Bill and of course Barbie and myself. We had Great Food, Great Beer, still have a couple of 6 paks of Shiner Bock that 'Hawk brought up from Tejas.
I hope I remembered everyone!!!! The way my memory is it's a wonder I did that well.:(
There was not only kukris but other specimens of swords, daggers, other sharp playthings and Guns!!!!
I wouldn't mind having another get together of the local guys like is being talked about here.
Maybe I could get some Atsila (Sacred Fire) firewood split during any kukri testing.
If not I could maybe get a couple of pieces of hickory that everyone could cut up and split into kindling chunks.
Works good in the smoker.;) :D
I won't get into the discussion of Hickory vs Mesquite.:p ;)

Yvsa,

Do you have pictures posted somewhere?

Sean

Might have to be a Saturday. Just got bumped, so back in the yard and restdays. Think it'll be nice to have an actual weekend again. Right now going to shoot for Friday and Saturday. That corresponds with mamavs and Karens schedule well right now. Weekends may be a little busy this month but maybe can work something out. Hope we can come.

No, sorry. If I had two or three good free and easy photo storage places I might be able to put some up one of these days.

SeanH, have to remember to take pics!
I do have a few khuks too. If we can make it, will bring some like the Movie Model with the TSarki quick draw sheath. Have a 30" AK if you want to do some real chopping!
Will have to see on the dates.

I don't know if this needs a new thread or not but...

In most cases your internet service provider (ISP) gives you a free place to post pictures.

The problem is that you usually, but not always, get what you pay for. Most ISPs that charge very little for a internet connection and email usualy have bad service and tech support.

There are other ways to post pictures though. You could:

1) Pay for a company to host your web site. This costs any where from $100 a year to $200 ayear for a decent company. This is what I do. You may find this more than you wanted unless you find a company that advertises plain speak and good support, they are out there but you have to look for em.

2) Go to one of those places that offer free web hosting. the problem here is "you don't get sometin fo nothin". Almost without exception, they force those who visit your site to see your picures to sit through LOTS of annoying avertising. The service probaly isn't that great eather.

3) You could find a freind to give you a place on his site for free. The problem here is (yes, there is one here too) that there is no easy way for your freind to automatical limit the ammount of space you take up on his site (there are limits). So you would have to police tis yourself. If you don't mind being careful, this may be the best.

Dunno about transportation though...

I'm sure that transportation could be arranged. Even if you have a U-Haul full of khuks. :D (Or maybe ESPECIALLY if you do!)
Looks like all we need now is an agreement on the date, place, who is coming, and who's bringing what for eats, and who can use all the firewood that may be created.
