Byrd "3" suggestion: round holes with etched "Byrd's eye"

I'm sure this has been said before, but I really prefer the round hole to the Byrd's eye hole. I know I can use JB-Weld to fill in the comet tail, but I'd prefer it to be round from the factory(also, all-metal around the hole just feels better than epoxy filler.) I also appreciate the need to visually distinguish the Byrd knives from the rest of the Spyderco lineup. Also, some of the Byrd knives have combinations of features not found in the regular Spyderco lineup, so you can't just "upgrade" to an equivalent Spyderco model to get the same exact features but with a round hole.

So, I propose that the Cara Cara 3 and so on have a round hole, with etching on the blade adding the "comet tail" shape next to the hole. This would preserve the distinctive Byrd look, and vastly improve the ergonomics of the one hand opening feature.

I doubt that is going to happen. The round hole is a registered trademark for Spyderco, the comet hole is a registered trademark for Byrd knives. Putting the round hole on a Byrd would be like GM putting a Cadillac shield on a Camaro in place of the Chevrolet bowtie.

Well, the obvious counter to that is that the Cadillac shield and Chevrolet bowtie aren't functional features. This is more like if Toyota put funky shaped, uncomfortable steering wheels in all Scions, then realized "hey, these don't work as well as round steering wheels," and proceeded to just use the funky shape as a cosmetic design on a normal round steering wheel from then on.
