I love the symmetry of the Spydie hole, because as you open the knife, the profile of a round hole remains constant, and your thumb or finger will not get jammed or tweaked like it does in a comet hole.

What isn't shown is that I scuff up the comet hole where the JB Weld goes with a diamond file and meticulously clean with alcohol in order to promote good epoxy adhesion.

My Byrds are tight, they only fit one Sharpie. But I did need to wrap a little clear tape on the Sharpie to exactly match the round portion of the comet hole.

I have no Byrd knives yet. I didn't realize they tweak one's thumb but now that you mention it I could see how that could happen.
Wow, you've been busy modding a bunch of them.
Nice job and the end result is interesting to the eye. Before opening the thread I thought : JB Weld; this is going to be ugly.

But they look good !

JBWeld is epoxy with metal powder added. It won't hold up well in this situation.
It may be better to chamfer the edges of the hole.

Nice job on the mod op but why would a company make a un ergonomic hole like that in the first place..... Oh I just remembered why ;).
