Byrd Finch 2

Had one. Didn't have a problem with it just sold off a bunch of knives and that one went with it. Love the choil and g10 on a ladybug size package

I have both the Finch 1 and Finch 2. The Finch 1 is slimmer by about 1/16", smoother opening, and is saber-ground. The opening hole is larger, more positive, and has sharp but more radiused edges. The backspring is a little weaker and potentially the Finch 1 could open in your pocket. The screws are all Phillips.

The Finch 2 is FFG (my favorite), has a nicely strong backspring, is a little grittier opening, and has Torx screws. The opening hole is smaller and the edges are uncomfortably sharp, but still positive. Weight-wise I'd call 'em even because of the cutouts on the rear of the Finch 2 handle.

Hope this helps.

I really like the Ladybug/Manbug but the configuration and G10 of the Finch 2 is intriguing. I certainly don't need another knife but might give one of these a try just because I don't have any Byrd knives yet.

I was fibbing :). I had already purchased one and wanted to ask for opinions while I was waiting for it to arrive. It arrived yesterday and so far, I really like it. I've owned a LadyBug and ManBug in the past, but seems to like this Finch 2 a bit better. In all fairness, it's been so long, maybe I should acquire another one of each to compare again.

Here's my new Finch-2. The Victorinox dangler, I already had lying around, so I put it on.
