How does the volcano / bi-directional texture compare to the lined texture on the Byrd Knives?

I only have experience with Spyderco's FRN texture and am looking at picking up a FRN Byrd or two.

The FRN on the Byrd knives is, to me, much more agressive and "grippy" than the volcano pattern FRN or the bi-drectional pattern. The FRN on the Rescue Cara Cara I have been carrying was so aggressive that it made clipping to and removing from the pocket difficult at first.

I would say from most secure to least, the Byrd pattern, bi-directional pattern, then volcano pattern. That said, I don't have much experience with the bi-directional pattern except for an older waved endura 4.

Byrd FRN is good. I have a couple caly jrs and they compare to my byrd robin and meadowlark.

Actually i think the byrd meadowlark frn combo edge is the best value in a 3 inch knife.
