these are great ! i have an ss CE flight , an ss PE cara cara , and a PE raven . these are great , i can`t belive the value!

i`d like to know if anyone has put a byrd to some hard use( or any use) , or how you`ve used your byrd , and how did it holp up?

I carry a SS Pelican PE almost every day. The other day at work, I used it to cut up some corrugated boxes after ALL of our utility knives seemed to disappear. The edge held up like a champ. But, after the 15th box, it was beginning to get really dull. Then again most knives will be dull after cutting 15 corrugated boxes into strips.

When I got home I ran it across the Sharpmaker about 10 or 15 strokes per side and it was back to almost shaving sharp.

Not bad for a $20 knife.

I have the small one on my keychain. I went with Starling because of the steel. I felt the 8Cr13MoV stainless steel was probably better than the AUS6 that the Jester or Ladybug uses.

yeah i`ll get one of those eventually . that feather design just sort of grew on me.

I'm not to fond of the aluminum ones. Basically because the durablity of the coating, but Starling has FRN handles which I like. I don't like the black blade, but you can't have it all. It is a great little knife for a little less than $10. I also keep a G-10 Meadowlark in each of our vehicles. Also, great value.

just came back from my local knife shop with an ss plain edge pelican , and an ss plain edge meadowlark
