I figured this would be a good first post. This site is addicting. I had been reading about this Byrd line for some time now and finally ordered a meadowlark in G10 last week. It was on my doorstep today...
I could not be happier!. My EDC before was a benchmade Pika. After taking out the Meadowlark I realized my next purchase will be a sharpener. The Byrd knife is VERY sharp...but during my comparison I realized the Pika wouldnt cut half of what it used to cut just 2-3 months ago.
Back to the Byrd, its very smooth opening, I was surprised at how easy it opened one handed .I was expecting to have to polish things up and maybe loosen the pivot, but its perfect how it is. Blade has zero play and is pretty much perfectly centered. I cant believe I waited this long to get a G10 knife, or a Byrd for that matter. I know there are 100 threads similiar to this but I was excited and felt the need to post
Sorry for rambling. Overall, there wasnt anything I could find wrong with the knife...and the cheap price tag was icing on the cake. This will be my EDC, starting today.
