Byrd Short Spear & Walking Staff

I know this subject has been broached before here and elsewhere but nobody ever really answers the questions.

In an early RKS newsletter, it shows a photo of the short spear and says that Gary Randall stated in a letter that RMK had officially sanctioned Byrd's short spear for the Model 18.

Did Gary Randall also officially sanction the Byrd Walking Staff too? Has anything happened since to alter that relationship or sanction?

If anyone has any further info on either the spear or staff, I'd appreciate hearing it.

Since Gary Randall has made that particular policy that question would best be answered by the Randall Shop. You are welcome to post what they tell you. Of course ask their permission to do so. Their email address grandall@randallknives.com

I have just contacted Randall Knives about the staf And the reply was that it could damage the threads or break the handle and was not reccomended.
This was a email response from Randall asking them for contact info for Byrd.
Was just in Florida/Orlando but was unable to visit Randall or Byrd , maybe next Year.
