This 1910 patented contraption caught my eye and I ended up buying it . The patent seems mainly focused on sharpening shears but I'm thinking it might work to sharpen knives. I'm not seriously considering it as a replacement for modern sharpeners but I think it might be fun to try it out on some inexpensive knives.

He can always make an adapter to change the angle. Open your mind, lol. I think it's neat. Great find!

That's pretty cool.

Looks like that'd be great fun to experiment with. Sort of an 'old school' Edge Pro. As previously mentioned, it seems some adaptation could be done to use with knives. Maybe adapt the stone holder for use with modern hones.

I like that both the clamp/blade holder end, and the fulcrum end can be adjusted for height (so it appears, with the wing screws pictured). Looks like matching an existing bevel angle would be easy with this setup.

At the very least it shows you that jig sharpeners of this type have been around for a loooong time.

Oh, and I'm completely jealous of your purchase :D
