Well I've just got to check with my pals here at Bladeforums to see who all got one or two the newer Spyderco C-60 Ayoob Sprint Run. This new C-60 Sprint Run has been even better than I imagined that it would. I'm pretty certain at least a few of you all here at BF got one as well. It's not all that often that we get a Sprint Run of a premium model in both SE & PE. Both edge types are nothing short of "SUPERB".

The serration pattern on the SE unit is a low profile set of serrations that are really aggressive and similar to the older C-17, AUS-8 Catcherman model of years gone by. The plain edge is nothing short of "excellent". The selection of Cruwear for the blade steel is far better than I had anticipated.

I'm hoping that there will be enough support for this newer C-60 Ayoob model that several would like to see it return to the main line up. This C-60 Sprint Run is already in my top 3 favorite Spyderco folders of all time. I hope some of you got to snag one before they all disappeared.

Thanks for driving this, JD. I love mine. I suspect that I like my incoming Cruwear Stretch 2XL just as much, though.

I don’t mean to be a downer, but I’m honest. I wasn’t impressed with the sprint Ayoob. To be fair it was my first one, so maybe I went in with expectations too high.. but no washers is a concept that weirds me out on a $200+ knife. Putting the thing back together isn’t fun either.

I like mine a lot. So much that I bought several in both PE and SE. The milled and washerless liners seem to make for an incredibly smooth action on each of mine. I think it’s a very cool and unique model.

Why did you take yours apart?

Love the design.
I tried to pick up a new serrated model but I could never catch one in stock anywhere.
I have an original aluminum handled serrated model that I carried for over a decade. I also have a LNIB plain edge G10 from the first sprint run. I much prefer the serrated blade on this model.

There are still a few to be had but it's getting tougher to find one. Just have to check with some of the smaller dealers. And what surprised me was how many of the Spyderedged units of the C-60 Cruwear Ayoob sold. I don't remember very many fully serrated models that got the fanfare that this Cruwear Ayoob has recently gotten. Both the PE & SE versions are literally "Dream Come True" knives for me. The C-60 Ayoob has been one of my very favorite Spyderco folders for many years. I do hope they produced more of them down the road at some point.

I've searched high and low for a serrated model at many knife dealers. It's nowhere to be found.

It seems like after the first week of February the serrated versions got really tough to find. I did some searching two days ago and now I can't find a PE or SE version anywhere. I am hoping that Spyderco will have a change of heart and do another batch of this great Sprint Run. Not sure how many they made but they sure sold out in a hurry.

It was a great Sprint Run and I don't see how Spyderco would lose if they decided to do another batch. It also blew me away at how the serrated version sold out so fast. I don't ever recall a serrated Sprint Run selling as good as the C-60 Cruwear Ayoob did.

I keep seeing PE popping up on Facefart once a month.
Yeah I've ran across 3 dealers myself that all claim they have like one of the plain edged C-60 Cruwear Ayoob models. But I haven't seen a serrated version available in quite some time now. This is the only serrated Sprint Run I've seen that sold out completely. And it seemed like there was more fanfare for the serrated version from the get-go.

The serrated C-60 Cruwear Ayoob Sprint Run is by far my very favorite serrated Spyderco folder. I do hope to get at least one more of the serrated version before they disappear completely. This was truly a great Sprint Run overall.
