Let me start by saying this is my first slipjoint since getting into knives.
The knife is great. The fit and finish is excellent, and the wood is nice and grippy. The large knife sometimes runs into the small knife while closing, but it doesn't happen very often. Out of the total times I've opened this knife, to open it or to use it, it has happened twice. A friend of mine tells me that certain german knife makers consider it sin to bend the blades to avoid this, like some imperials. I don't know if that's bull, but neither of the blades is bent to avoid collision. I usually open and close the knife carefully, so the two times it has happened, no damage was done.
The hardest use I've put into this was cutting up pumpkins for a pumpkin ale. The knife slid through the pumpkin as if the pumpkin was a piece of cardboard. Typically I use the knife for cooking or opening packages.
I sharpened the knife today, starting with 800 grit, and moving to 2000 grit sandpaper. The knife sharpened up extremely quickly, and was very sharp. I'll see how long the edge holds, for I plan on learning some whittling with the knife.
I use this for EDC, and haven't carried another knife since I got this one. By far one of my favorite knives I own.
