A guy I work with brught me in his Buck Knife. It is a Buck crosslock Solitaire, he purchased in 95. The problem(other than being dull) is that it is very hard to open, and when locked if you push on the blade it goes past the locked position towards the handle. I gave him the addy to send it in, but am curious if it can be fixed and if it can't what will Buck replace it with? Thanks guys.

like as not it will be replaced with some thing in same cost range
but then they may have one...

The model 180 Crosslock has an adjustment on the blade pivot and what looks like torx screws around the frame.
At least the one I am looking at.

Maybe Buck can just do some adjustment.

This was somehting we saw in some of the original Crosslocks out there. The tightness of the blade could probably be fixed with by adjusting the blade pivot screw as mentioned. But, the blade "overriding" the stop cannot be fixed. Send it in and we will replace it no problem. We will replace it with a comparable product. The customer service person who hanldes it will probably call you and give you some options as far as a replacement knife.

ditto what Bill said. We updated that product into Aluminum handles and that is how it will be replaced I think.

Some crosslocks are really cool. Don't think I will be sending this one in even if the liner lock goes over a little too far, and it is a little harder to open.
