Are there any thoughts on the C/K Dragon by CRK&T or the custom made version? Any contribution is appreciated.

I just recently got my Dragon. It is a sturdy knife and super nice in your hand. It has not seen any real use yet (minus cutting open a box as a light test). From the box it is awesomely sharp. That having been said, there are some things that concern me about it. First off, the sheath is rather bulky when using the included belt attachment, so i took mine off and now have it strung under my arm via some 550 paracord. My second issue is the tip of the knife. I have never broken a CRKT (i own five others), but im afraid that with a little too much use, the tip of the Dragon will break right off being that it is so slim. This is just a fear, but if you plan on using it as a survival/prying/utility knife, i don't think it will stand up...if you want it for personal protection or something like that, go for it, it is a wonderful piece and very impressive...hope this helped :)

I recently got one also. My only issue with it is that the handle's a bit small for my hands, and the pommel keeps digging uncomfortably into the side of my hand. A bit of grinding should fix that, though. Oh, and the handle feels like concrete, but that's G-10 for you.

I had bought one awhile ago but returned it immediately to the dealer.I also found the handle lacking lenght, the sheath held the knife unusually tight, the edge on mine was like a butter knife, and everytime the knife was unsheathed there would be a few black bits on the blade. Not to mention the handles are hard, blocky and awkwardly unergonomic.

Personally, I can't understand how Bob Kasper's designs could (de)evolve into the Dragon. His Polkowski collaborations (Pug, Scorpion, etc) were the definitive concealed-carry self-defense/fighting knives of their time. The Dragon, which came later, was like taking a step backwards, in my opinion. The Dragon just does not have the same "feel" of his other designs and, consequently, the draw, index, and application all suffer somewhat.

I am a fan and user of both CRKT and Kasper designs (their production "Companion" knife was excellent), but I can't reccommend the Dragon: the materials are mediocre, the handle dimensions are a little small, the feel/balance is not ideal, and the tek-lok style clip is a poor substitute.

The only thing it really has going for it is the price.
