Hy, I'm new here and need some help. I just bought a small M-16 and the liner-lock doesn't work at all. I can open the knife firmly and then close it wihout pushing the lock to the side. The lock gives very easily. I want to know if I can send it back and get a replacement or have that one fixed. Thanks for your help.

John, welcome to Bladeforums. I hope you have more fun with your other knives than with that one!

OK, where did you get it, from a dealer? Call him, tell him what's happening. He may take care of you. Which is a good reason for buying from dealers with good customer service reputations -- check out the other forums here, like the Good, Bad, and the Ugly, where the winners and losers get pointed out.

You could also contact the manufacturer, and let them know one of their knives got past quality control. Give them a chance to make it right.

We also have forums for some knife companies, so later on, you may have a knife from one of them, you can ask the company rep right here what to do.

But first, check with the dealer who sold it to you or with the manufacturer. You shouldn't have to hold onto a knife that doesn't do what it's supposed to. In this case, a bad liner lock, it is absolutely dangerous.

John, Welcome to the Forums.

I agree you should contact the dealer you bought it from. They should send you a new one and have you send the defective one back. If they won't help you out, don't buy from them again, and contact CRKT. They will definitely take care of you.

John - welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear of your problem with the M16. YEs, send it back to the dealer, he should be able to replace it for you without hassle. However, if he doesn't and you need to contact CRKT, call them at 1.800.891.3100. From what I hear, they have great customer service.
