Hey folks...am looking at picking one of these up for a gift (just recently bought a Cold Steel American Lawman for another buddy...yes, I'm an awesome friend)...was wondering if anyone had any info on these knives...appears to be a pretty decent steel, nice mechanics, etc...C.R.K.T. a pretty good company? I rock out a full-size Griptilian combo-edge, so I'm trying to outfit my friends with nice knives of their own...thanks for any info!

I'm sure your friend will love it, try get a plain edge instead, non knife people won't know how to sharpen serrations.

I really dig mine, I also just got the new M21 with the G10 handles and Vef serrations. Wicked sharp. Here is the aluminum handle one, I'll try to get a pic of the new up later in the day.

i'm a CRKT fan, and i have an M16. i have some experience with the M21s, and i think that those M series knives are nice, especially for the money. decent steel, great design, and a carson flipper to boot. he should be very happy with it.

I've been looking for a good mid-range ($$) heavy-duty folder for him, as I have the Grip and my buddy now rocks out the American Lawman...does Spyderco make a "busty" (lol) knife? The native is the closest I've found size-wise to the Grip, or am I missing something? Any other recommendations in that price range?

I've got an M21-SFG (pics are floating around somewhere, pm me if you want them) It's got the 8CR12MoV steel blade, made in china, but it's a sacrifice I was willing to make to get the G-10 handles. I love the thing. It's a bit heavy in the hand, but the flippers rock and they actually form a hilt on the knife when it's open. All around great knife, you won't be disappointing.
I've also got the aluminum M21 Aus-8 as an EDC knife, and that one's great as well. Excellent jimping on the blade as a thumb rest.
