Well I was in to old sac today and stopped into this antique shop. And I saw this
that's the best picture I could get. Anyway it's an old butcher knife for 20$ that's said to have been found in a cabin in Virginia and obviously has C.S.A carved into the handle, to mee it looks to be in too good of shape not to mention the more modern pin style ( from what I understand multiple small pins were more common than 3 larger ones in that era ) but they're not modern Cutler's rivets, so I'm assuming that it's just a late 1800s ( Clyde or Chicago cutlery...ect that someone simply carved C.S.A into ) 20$ isn't that much and I almost bought it on the off chance that it is that old ( but for the type of knife that I'd re purpose for wood use ) it wouldn't work out. And if it is more modern like I think, I can easily find one from 1900's for 5$ or less at a thrift store. So what do you guys think. ( I know that anything C.S.A should be suspicious ) I hope I posted this in the right thread ! Cause it is a butcher knife, but not exactly what you guys seem to discuss
