The Cylinder and Slide Shop has long advertised a "Dunk-it" for gun cleaning. It is essentially a bucket with top filled with a combo cleaner and lube (something like BreakFree, I imagine). It comes in several sizes, the smallest of which is about 3/4 of a gallon.

Anyone ever use this setup for knife care? It should be okay to use on all metal or most FRN, wouldn't it? Wood probably wouldn't fare well.

Just wondering, and yes, I am a lazy bastid.

BTTT just once to see if anyone has any wild speculation on this topic.

Or maybe phobias, issues, etc. :)

Heck, I almost forgot I posted it.

The Dunk It Kit from CS Shop is best for when a firearm, or knife in this case, when either has been neglected after many sessions of use. It essentially soaks the entire unit and helps to soften up all the buildup. My associates have found that taking down and cleaning its parts should follow after the "dunking". Some have expressed concern that the unit may come out squeaky clean and that lubing the essential parts are necessary. Ergo taking down, additional cleaning and lubing is necessary.
