Just noticed this knife in the 2010 Knife Catalog from Spyderco.

Haven't heard of this steel, anyone care to share some knowledge?

Also, release date, MSRP?

I don't know any information, but I do know I'll be buying one! Anyone have more info on the blade steel and where it falls in relation to other steel?

Interesting.... I've got a couple of Kreins in CPM D2, it's a great steel. Thanks for the link!

Might still beat the heck out of those downmarket junkers built around S30V, not to mention trash like 154CM? <-- humor ;)

I'll probably buy one, unless the price is outrageous. I hope it's not some super high dollar steel like S90V or something, but if it's just a unique mid range steel I'd like to try it. I'm also not a huge fan of all this foliage green but I think it looks cool on the Manix.

I was really hoping for another different version of the manix2. I have the first one, couldn't afford the carbon fiber FG one, and was hoping for the "tero-tuff" version, or something like an orange g-10. My balloon popped when I saw another foliage green handle. They must have a ton of that stuff in their warehouse. BIG disappointment for me. I guess I will have to wait and see if they have any more versions.

I like the foliage green. But if a "supersteel" is going to be used I'd prefer a flat grind. The edge on my Manix2 is certainly robust, good for hard use but maybe not what you'd want to showcase a great steel.

I would like to hear from Sal or Kristi about an ETA...
I have been dying to try this Carpenter steel and the Manix 2 sure beats buying a 1000$ custom Hinderer.:D
