C2 Hatchet

Hi,
Got this hatchet yesterday. I can't seem to pass them up. The only mark in the thing is C2. Curious if anyone can ID the maker?

It's a True Temper woodslasher.

I think some kelly axes have a letter and number marked on the side and wont have a makers mark.

no problem.

My neither my boys axe or hatchet happen to have a letter + number stamp like this, but a lot if not most of them do so I recognized it right away.

It's the True Temper Kelly woodslashers, but I'm not sure if anybody has really determined when / why they used it or stopped using it.
maybe somebody in one of the big axe groups on Fakebook knows but I'm not on the sight so I couldn't say.
