There is a misunderstanding as IMHO no "Steel" can be the "best choice" for anything and this is not the point of that little review.
Here we are talking about a whole package: a design, a liner lock, a shape, ergos, blade lenght, hollow grind, a steel, a heat treatment....

I had convexed the edge of my C22. And I was never able to have it chipped even when cutting hard material.
IMHO ZDP 189 on the Michael Walker can stay scary sharp for a very long time and can be used for a long time in the field. nothing wrong with that.
YMMV but a skilled hunter will know his tools and see how they fit his needs. :-)

But is a light folder like a C22 the best choice for hunting ?
Valter got a lot of hunting knives from scalpels to cleavers.
I respect his own point of view because he has hunted in all the world. Also I'm interested in his choice of cutlery.
Seeing other point of view and melting them with your own point of view is a good thing those forums provide.
But frankly I was surprised how much he fell in love with that little knife as I love it for hard pushcutting and he loves it on skin and flesh... :-)

Thanks to you and your friend for the post, I enjoyed it. I love the C22 design –*both the original Klötzli made one and the ZDP-189 sprint.
