I have a NIB C23GP Renegade Plainedge that is linerless.
I read somewhere that the linerless type was the rarer of the two types.
Is this correct?
Why would they make both liner, and linerless?
What year was the Renegade discontinued?
Any idea as to a value for the above knife?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi there
can only confirm that the linerless version is earlier than the liner one. I suspect that this knife had the same clip retention problems that the Police had in the G10 version. The linerless plain edge knives seen to go for a premium on Ebay when you can find one.
Don't know about the dates.
Phil

As Phil said, change to single liner on the Renegade and other G10 models was made due to problems with clip screws stripping out of the G10. Chart in catalog says it was introduced in '95, still listed in the '98 catalog, but not the 2000 one, and I don't have a '99, so best I can say is that it was disco'd in either '99 or 2000. Can't say for sure which there are actually more of, but have seen a fair number of linerless ones up for sale, but have yet to see a PE with liner on the block, so I tend to think the linerless are more common. Prices on discontinued Spydercos in general have been very inconsistent lately, but, as Phil said PEs do tend to fetch a premium.

Thank you Gentlemen for your replies.
You have answered more questions than all the Internet searches I have done.
Much appreciated.
