Well, it came at 1030hrs yesterday... it's now 1405 today... been using the Millie as much as I could in the last 24hrs. Hopefully I'll have a Native one done tommorrow.
Handle:
It's a comfortable handle, though it seems odd the first time. Gripped in such a way that the blade is in line with your wrist, you cover the whole handle and the control is still there. Or toss it into a pencil grip mid handle and use the tip for fine work. The open back makes me want to take it out and get it dirty just to rinse it out.
Blade:
I find the 50/50 is a good balance in this length. The 3 large serrations offer an amount of serrations that is useful but without taking up the whole edge.
I had one imperfection in the edge, a chip about 3/4 of an inch from the serrated. The wire edge was chipped out, but a quick touchup on a ceramic steel and you don't even notice it(unless you hold it to a light and see the change).
Fit and finish:
Although the holes seem srilled deeper on the clip side, it's the only non perfect thing with it. The lines are all clean, and the lockup is crisp.
Movement:
It is a bit stiff still, I haven't tossed any oil in the pivot yet... It is smooth to open, but will not spydiedrop yet...
Lockup:
The lockup is crisp, with the linerlock engaging with the full liner on the tang, but thats it! no exessive cross over, its as far to left as it can get while still being 100% engaged. And you can hear it hitting from the other room.
Overall:
This IS what it is promoted as... a high tech cutting tool without all the bells and whistles. It seems at home in both the urban jungle as much as the outdoors.
Well done Spyderco.
