The c39 Dyad jr was available in a micarta handled version ,with a clip & a FRN version without a clip.
What colors were available in the FRN version?
Pics would be greatly appreciated>
Also can anyone post a pic with the dyad jr & Caly jr or delica for comparison?
It also would be a great help.
thanks,regards,rick.

I got this from The Deacons website for you.

http://paulberetta.com/main_frame.htm

It was made in three distinct versions. The C44 "Full Size" Dyad which came only in micarta, and the C39 which, in micarta was known as theMini Dyad and in FRN was called the Dyad Jr. The micarta versions incorporates all of the features Spyderco is famous for - round hole openers on both blades, a serrated blade (and a plain edged one as well) and a pocket clip. The FRN version was clipless. The FRN version came in three colors, the most common of which is black, followed by a color "officially" known as green (although a lot of folks think it look blue) and burgundy, the least common of the trio. All, to the best of my knowledge were made only in ATS-55.

He has some pics with a jester and Q for comparasin

My EDC is the big C-44 Dyad. And it has been for 15 months now and I have no immediate plans to replace it. This is one of Spyderco's very misunderstood, overlooked and passed over Spyders that if given a chance would have been their flagship folder.

There was one version of the C-44 I was told that had a Blue handle. It was Micarta with a Blue handle. I want one. I want one very badly. But that's going to be a tough find. The 2 smaller C-39 Dyad Jr. FRN models I have that are colored are the GREEN ( which is really TEAL) and there is a burgundy one too. But don't forget the Black FRN Dyad Jr. I think on an old Bladeforums thread I remember someone saying that there were 4 colored FRN Dyad Juniors.

The potential crown jewel of the bunch will be that Dyad Jr with the Micarta handle. Not only is it rare it is probably the very best small folder with a Micarta handle that I have ever encountered. Right now the big C-44 is commanding the most $$ of the bunch but I think the little Micarta guy is going to overtake it sometime this year. it is a sleeper for sure >> The Dyad has to come back>> it just has to

A large Dyad with VG10 or S30v would be the ultimate pocket knife. Maybe that's what Sal's afraid of. Once bought there's no need to look further. :D At least until the new flat ground Chinook comes out, :D :D Then that would be it. Unless a full size Calypso in M2 comes out. That would be definitely it. At least until the new compression lock Military.

I just got in the full-sized Dyad I bought on eBay this week. I just had to see how it fit into my pocket before I oiled it and put it away. Ohhhhh, it felt so nice...that big serrated blade could work so much magic on the job. Stop me...I want to EDC it. No, must stick with other discontinued work knives, Dodo and Meerkat.

Whew, crisis avoided!

I can appreciate you wanting to preserve a discontinued Spyder. But I have a solution to that problem. Get a "back UP UNIT" ( BUU) for the C-44 big Dyad. Get one while they can still be had. I have BUUs for my big C-44 Dyad that I EDC. If more people would EDC this "master of all folders" then maybe the General would take a serious look at bringing the big guy back. Once you ever do give in and use one you won't look back. The huge spectrum of cutting chores you can do with that folder is impressive. And I use my SE blade far more than I originally anticipated.

I used to carry my small Dyad at work until one of the locks failed and Spyderco couldn't fix it....now I just want to keep the three I have safe.

FWIW, I was heartbroken when they couldn't fix my knife....I loved carrying it on the job. So I completely understand how much you love your C44 :-)
