C53 Peter Herbst Question!

How can you identify the Ti version of this knife?
Was the Ti version the only one with the blue pattern on the handle or did it come with out it as well?
It seems the Ti version did not last long > Any production #'s available?

Any help/info on this model appreciated.

that's all my knowledge about the C53TI Peter Herbst:

it has a 440C blade, manufactured in Solingen, Germany by Böker, blue patterns in the titanium handle and the blade is marked on the left side with DESIGN BY PETER HERBST, SPYDERCO 440C and on the right side with SOLINGEN GERMANY

due to poor production quality Spyderco stopped soon the production (only a vew hundreds from first production run were sold) and Spyderco SFO sold in summer 2003 137 pieces marked as Seconds at USD 35,-/piece :eek:

Later all the Peter Herbst with Aluminium handle were produced in Japan (I guess most of them with ATS-55 and a few with VG-10)
