The "TOAD" as that model was affectionately called is probably in Spyderco's Top 10 most rare and hardest models to get your hands on. However there is one lynch-pin to the overall value of that knife. I can also name off about 4 other models that are equally as rare but have no real hard demand for it. As with collectibles it's the same as any other market>> all markets are driven by "Supply & Demand".
I talk to a lot of people regarding various collectible Spyderco models and I very rarely even hear mention of the D'Alton TOAD model. And I'm sort of surprised about that because with all of this "cigar craze" that's going on I would think that TOAD model would be a top notch cigar knife. Now I've heard that the Spyderedged version of the TOAD is really rare and almost impossible to find. But again I don't see a lot of demand for it.
Probably your best bet would be see what "completed listings" for that model were on Ebay ( or any other auction site for that matter). My wild guess is if you can find someone who really wants a TOAD model I'm willing to bet that you can get between $80 to $100 for it. But that's just a wild guess on my part because it's one of the few models I've never owned>> and for old school Spyders there aren't many that I haven't owned at one time or another>> Good Luck and please keep us posted if you have any luck at finding a value>> because I would like to know that myself.
