C59 Shabaria question

Sal(or anyone who knows),
Will the Shabaria be released with the REKAT lock?? You mentioned else where that some of the liner locks where going to be converted to the REKAT lock. I don't want to know when it will be released or anything, just if there are plans for it to have the REKAT lock. And if ya answer this question I'll try not to ask any more Spyderco questions till after the Blade Show.

Blades - The Shabaria is scheduled to come out as a linerlock. This was as designed by the designer, Eduard Bradichansky.

This model is a unique adventure for Spyderco. The basic design is 1700 years old. A writer asked us what blade style it was. We said "Shabaria". He said, "Is a Shabaria a "Clip point" or "Drop point" or what?". We said the "Shabaria" was here long before clip points and drop points, it is a "Shabaria" blade pattern. Quite unique in its shape and that is why we decided to try a run.

Whether or not it is converted to a Rolling lock and retooled and reproduced will depend on its long term popularity potential vs the "Knock off" potential.

Thanks for the info. Liner lock will work fine for me. It is a very unique knife. I'm glad Spyderco is going to make it. No more Spyderco questions from me till after June.
