C80 Dodo ?

The Dodo is a cute small knife with a reversed S blade, blue G10 scales, wire clip and the new ball lock.
You can find some pics of it on the Spyderco Forum, General Dicussion section. Try using the search engine on the left side of the page.
Or, even better, ask Joyce Laituri at Spyderco for a free 2003 catalog. The Dodo is there. :)

thanks you to both of you for the information.
Will Spyderco make handles with different colors like the salsa ? I would love a black or grey one...:D

The first run is scheduled for blue handles. The possibility of other color variations will depend on the popularity of the design.

Regarding delivery, can't say. When I give scheduled delivery, and delivery is later than expected because of some unexpected glitch, I get a ton of heat. The ELUs are pissed at me, the dealers are pissed at me and my staff is pissed at me.

When a small company invents, designs, engineers and manufacturers a totally new concept, there are always unexpected problems.

Self preservation dictates elusive response. I will say we're working on them.

Thank you for your patience and kind understanding.

Thanks for the update Sal. I like the blue G-10 on the Dodo, so it's definately on my next knife to get list along with the A.T.R. folder. ;)

I still haven't decided if I like the Dodo yet. I'm going to wait until I can lay my hands on one before making a judgement. I will say that I LOVE the blue G-10! Other colors on subsequent runs is a great idea. Did I say I LOVE the blue G-10? :D

Dodo is a must-have. If I didn't think it'd lacerate my fingers, I'd pinch it's little beak! Speaking as a man who has been extensively chased by ducks and geese and mauled by a parrot (they're only ticklish up to a point), I must say that I'm looking forward to a bird that is more inanimate.

One word Thom: Shotgun!

Easyrider,

No can do. Especially since I was there to feed the duckies. Just didn't think that a gaggle of evil geese would charge me. ...at three separate ponds!

I guess you're lucky that way Thom! :p

I really am, Easyrider!

Last Summer, two pairs of three years old twins and two of their other friends tackled me at one pair's birthday party. I was almost a dead man before I thought to offer them airplane rides and the mom of the birthday twins offered cake (ever watch 8 little kids look around like prairie dogs and then break a landspeed record?).

I try to stay away from petting zoos, too, after some pygmy goats opened up my thumb. Can't always stay away. Unfortunately, the mark of a man who is always pummelled by people and animals less than 3' tall seems to cloud my aura. The zookeeper wouldn't let me pet the bearcats (Indonesian binturong, a member of the viverid family) no matter how much I begged to sign legally binding waivers of liability. They're so cute and they smell like popcorn. I bet they would've let me pet the tigers because they're bigger than 3'. Had that happened, with the bad part of my luck, a cub would've broken free from a nursery and defended its dad or mom by taking off one of my legs. Then people who know me wouldn't believe that a tiger cub had done it and would ask if I was practicing arnis on the toilet again.

Bottom line: I'm SO looking forward to the Dodo pocket knife! ;)
